Nowaday this is the main and unique band I belong to.

"Evolution" born after the meeting between me and the drummer, Lorenzo Appice (Genuary 2005)during my short experience in his previous band. The main idea consisted in founding an Heavy Metal group taking something from the music genres nearest to Heavy Metal (such as trash, prog, power and so on) and with the main task of composing songs characterized by the power of melodies and the structure typical of the gratest rock-metal bands of the past on one side (such as Judas Priest, Whitesnake, Dokken, Iron maiden, and so on), and by the style and the creativeness typical of the 90's bands (such as Dream Theater, Symphony X, Angra, Racer X, and so on) on the other side. In order to realize this project, two main points were not solved yet: we lacked a good bassist and overall a singer having great personality and great...voice extension! The first one solved with the arrive of Roberto (who was already a well known bassist in the Tarantine underground) while to solved the second one we choose the singer Ilaria Geniola. She's a woman. An atypical choice in our music context. If you're asking yourself about the motivations of such a choice, I give you an answer soon:
1) Here where I live, in the South of Italy, there are very few good singers with great voice extension, overall for a so unspread genre as heavy metal. 2) When I heard Ilaria singing for the first time (the piece was "Nothing to say" - Angra n.d.r.) she sent shivers down my spine seriously! With such a singer, you will change your opinion about the role that women can achieve in the rock-metal scene.

At that moment,in April 2005, we started an intense work either to prepare covers (we referred to Whitesnake, Racer x, Dream Theater, Symphony X and so on), and to compose our pieces, searching our sound identity. This period lead us at first at the success achieved during our gig at the NordWind disco pub in Bari (in gennaio 2006), and at second, at the realization of our first demo recorded by me (you can listen to it on last.fm, or download it in mp3 format or buy a copy at my online store)
In August 2006 Roberto left our band and Claudio Signorile replaced it as a bassist.
In Genuary 2007, when just 1 month was passed since the publishing of our demo, Ilaria left Evolution, because of the great committment that this band required compared with how much she could and would dedicate to. After that, the band acquired a keyboard player, Domenico Rosito, applying a little directional change toward PROG, althought without sucrificing Evolution's HEAVY sound and musicality, which are distinguishable Evolution's marks.
Angelo Barbaro sung with us during our last gig in December 2007 but now I am the new singer.

Nowaday the band is searching for a dischography trade mark, and is planning concerts all over Italy.

Lorenzo Appice - drums
	He started playing drums when he was 15 years old, and then a hard-rock and metal passion exploded thanks to bands such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple and...Guns n'Roses. When he was about 17 years old he founded the "glorious" Maelstrom metal band, with which he created lots of pieces and organized lots of concerts for 4 years. During this period his first experimental tendencies, (that can be noticed in the Maelstrom's demo too) start rising. After these 4 years that band resolved and he founded the Black Velvet band with other musicians, with which he tried a mixture experiment between "italian hard-rock" and progressive metal. After a demo cd and some live concerts, the components of this band changed and with the new components he falled in temptation with pure prog metal (ggg). But also that band resolved and since 2005 he share with Antonio the 'Evolution' project.
Domenico Rosito - Keyboard
	He's born in Catania in 1987. He made his first approach with his instrument in 1997, receiving a Korg i4s as a gift (that he uses nowaday, too, with a Korg Triton Extreme 88). He learned some keyboard playing notions from his father, who is a self-taught guitar and keyboard player, and started to have private piano lessons, facing with quite different genres such as blues, jazz, classic and light music etc. studying theory and solfeggio at the same time. Only after that he has understood how much theory and solfeggio are important for the development of any musician. In 2002 he has started to like power/progressive metal, proceeding his self-taught studies, with the synth world and being inspired by bands such as Dream Theater, Symphony X, Angra, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica etc. He plays with Evolution since Genuary 2007.
Claudio Signorile - Bass
	He's born in Bari and his first musical approach consisted in playing drums at 15. He started playing bass indeed at 17, collecting 4 different basses since now, between which there's the one he's used to play with: the Billy Sheehan one. He has studied for one year at the Music University in Rome, at the Pentagramma music school in Bari and at the Conservatory of Bari. He has been involved in bands such as Antartide (Power Metal), Floating State (70's Progressive Metal). His favourite bands are Dream Theater, Depeche Mode, Level 42, and his style is influenced by bassists such as Victor Wooten, Michael Manrin, Billy Sheehan and Marcus Miller. He plays with Evolution since September 2006.
